Shore Time

One great thing about living in PA (Pennsylvania pronounced pee-ay) is summers spent at the shore. If your not from around my area you probably have no idea what "going down to the shore" is...it means we're going to the beach in New Jersey! We just call it the shore as in shoreline. If you live in PA chances are that you know someone in your family or a friend who owns a shore house in Jersey. Hubs and I are lucky to both have grandparents who own property at the shore. This summer we have two long weekends planned at the shore; one at his grandparents and one at mine. Both shore houses are in Ocean City, NJ (my grandparents place is just outside).

Ocean City is where hubs and I have spent many summers ever since we were children. (Do you think we ever met before?...its a possibility!) It's a dry town (no alcohol can be purchased) and its very family oriented. I wouldn't have it any other way! It is so relaxing and peaceful. And only a 20 minute drive to Atlantic City if your in the mood to get into some trouble!
The past few years hubs and I have developed our own ritual of sorts and that includes...
Waking up early and going to the bay to see the sunrise...
Spending a relaxing morning on the dock with our coffee, camera and mother nature...
Going crabbing! We then take them back to the house to gut them and clean them and cook up some crabs and gravy (red sauce) over spaghetti...
And spending the afternoons driving to our favorite spots. We love to hit up the Cape May Zoo, the Seashell Museum and the boardwalk.
There is nothing better than a long walk on the beach to watch the sun go down and going to sleep with an ocean breeze blowing around. It is so relaxing and romantic.
I can't wait!!!
Where are your summer relaxation spots?
