This is my cause

You're probably going to read this and think I'm nuts or roll your eyes and label me as a crazy PETA person but I don't care. I want to write about this because I feel strongly about it and I want to put it out there. Everyone has a cause whether it be a cure for cancer, preventing premature birth or AIDS research. This is my cause...

I feed my puppy all natural, organic food that does not practice cruelty and testing on animals. My husband hates this because its very expensive, we have to drive to a special store to buy it and he just thinks its a waste of time and money. Its not 'practical". And we get into an argument every time we run out of food and have to buy it.

Now a days people treat their pets as children. And even in these tough economic times, the pet industry has not taken a hit, they are actually on the rise. What I don't understand is how a pet owner can spoil their pet, treat them like part of the family and NOT care about what food they eat. How can you turn a blind eye to what is happening in puppy food plants to save yourself a few bucks? I just think that if you love your animal so much you should do a little research into what you are feeding them. Do you know you could be feeding your pet other animal ingredients, harmful additives and chemicals. And the company could be testing their toxins on cats and dogs?

After pleading my case with my husband he decided to research it; he found out the the cheaper brand from the grocery store that he wanted to feed our puppy does do testing on animals. We agreed to stay with an all natural, organic diet for our puppy! Yay! However we are going to research a little more to find a less expensive brand. I love a good comprimise :)

If you want be a responsible pet owner you can google Peta's Do and Don't pet food list. It will outline everything for you so that you can find the right food for you pet...

Every sat morning, on one of our local radio stations they have a 'pet' show, you know people can phone in and ask questions. and yesterday they had a nutrionist on. And i was teling Francois all about it.
He was saying the EXACT same thing! And that if you can you should actually e feeding your animals home cooked meals...obviously nothing fancy. And everything should be organic. And that you will see the difference in your animals striaght away. They have a website...i just need to find it.
